Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift is an American country and pop singer-songwriter. The songs of Taylor Swift are about the heartache of a young girl. Swift's interest in music began when she was a young age. From musicals for kids to appearing in front of crowds, Swift made rapid progress. At the age of 11, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game and the following year she picked up the guitar and began writing songs. Swift was inspired by artists who played country music, like Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks in order to write original music which reflected the alienation she experienced at 13 years old. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania to move towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time to wooing labels from the country in nearby Nashville.
